About Us
The Department/Faculty of Education was established in the year 1965. In the beginning one year M.Ed. course was offered and a two-year Master’s Programme in Education (M.A.) was subsequently introduced in the year 1979. 1600 students have completed their M.Ed. programme and another 2500 students have got their Master’s Degree in Education (M.A.) so far from the Department.
In early eigthtees, the Department initiated a research programme at M.Phil and Ph.D. levels. For the last 30 years about 200 scholars have been awarded the degrees of Ph.D., and M.Phil in Educati
