  • 1.     History

Since 1994, Insight: journal of applied research in education (IJARE) is in publication. IJARE was first published with the title “Insight” under the aegis of department of education, university of kashmir. From the year 1997 to 2000, the Insight journal was published under the title “Journal of INSIGHT in Education for Social Change”. In 2002, journal was renamed as “Insight: journal of applied research in education” and in 2009 the journal was allotted International Serial and Standard number (ISSN 0975-0665) by National Centre for India and till date the journal is published under the same name. IJARE is a open access, peer reviewed, refereed, print only journal published annually in English Language by Head, department of education, school of education and behavioural sciences, University of Kashmir.

1.1. Aim, Scope and Purpose

The objective of IJARE is to provide a platform for diverse scientific community, academicians, professionals, practitioners, administrators, specialists, teachers and research scholars to publish their original works in education and its allied fields to promote and disseminate knowledge in the form of theoretical and empirical research papers, book review. The IJARE offers a wide readership to academia across the India. IJARE aims to nurture critical thinking leading to growth and development of theory, practice and reflections relevant to India and Jammu and Kashmir in education and its allied areas ranging from School, classroom and pedagogical practices to policies and interventions at various stages of education. Insight: journal of applied research in education (IJARE) has a broader scope that covers papers both in theoretical and applied fields of education like educational psychology, educational philosophy,  sociology of education, educational sociology, history and development of education system in India & Jammu and Kashmir, social psychology, current issues and trends in Indian education, guidance and counselling, inclusive education, environmental education, pedagogical issues, curriculum development, educational administration and supervision, educational management, special education, adult education, teacher education, educational technology, instructional technology, e-learning & information and communication technology and current issues and trends in the field of education and its allied subjects.

  1. 3.     Consistency

Insight: journal of applied research in education (IJARE) is print only journal, published annually by department of education, school of education and behavioural sciences, University of Kashmir.  Since 1994, 27 Volumes of IJARE has been published and currently, Volume 28 of IJARE is in progress. Insight: journal of applied research in education (IJARE) was in UGC approved list of journals till July 2018.
