Insight: Journal of Applied Research in Education (IJARE) is an annual, peer-reviewed, refereed, open-acces scholarly journal published in English by the Department of Education, School of Education and Behavioural Sciences, University of Kashmir. launched in 1994, IJARE has consistently contributed to the advancement of educational research and academic dialogue in India, with particular relevance to Jammu and Kashmir.
Originally launched as Insight, the journal was published as Journal of INSIGHT in Education for Social Change from 1997 to 2001. In 2002, it adopted its present title, Insight: Journal of Applied Research in Education, and was allotted ISSN 0975-0665 in 2009 by the National Centre for India. The journal is currently in the process of being upgraded to the advanced version of the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. IJARE provides a multidisciplinary platform for academicians, researchers, professionals, practitioners, administrators, teachers, and research scholars to publish original theoretical and empirical research papers and book reviews. The journal aims to promote critical thinking, innovation, and reflective practice, contributing to the growth of educational theory, pedagogy, and policy.
The scope of IJARE encompasses both theoretical and applied dimensions of education, including educational psychology, philosophy and sociology of education, history and development of education, guidance and counselling, inclusive and special education, environmental education, curriculum studies, educational administration and management, teacher education, adult education, educational and instructional technology, e-learning and ICT, and current issues and trends in education and allied fields.
Aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, IJARE supports knowledge creation, research excellence, and interdisciplinary engagement. The journal encourages contributions that address contemporary educational challenges, evidence-based practices, inclusive and equitable education, digital learning, teacher development, and policy reforms.
